Carter SmithWhat can viewers expect from Kelly Clarkson‘s new talk show debuting this fall? A newly released trailer gives us a good idea.
The trailer features clips of Kelly interacting with her guests — including Chrissy Metz, Terry Crews and Chloe Grace Moretz — as well as visiting a charity organization that’s important to her. And judging by the fact that she makes her big entrance by singing part of Cardi B’s #1 hit “I Like It Like That,” there’s going to be a lot of music as well.
But most of all, it’s Kelly, the girl we’ve all loved since she won American Idol more than 16 years ago.
“When they said I was gonna get my own show…I love talking,” Kelly says in the trailer, laughing. “Obviously, this is no secret — if it is, you’ve never seen me…anywhere!”
She adds, “What viewers can expect from The Kelly Clarkson Show is basically me being authentically me. I love people, I love connecting with them, I love talking, that’s my favorite part of life.”
And Kelly says being a talk show host isn’t any more difficult than her other job that requires her to be in front of a camera: “I don’t find hosting to be super-different from being a coach on The Voice,” she explains. “It’s talking with people, and it’s being comfortable in your skin, which I’m super-good at — almost too good at!”
She laughs, “I should probably not be as comfortable!”
The Kelly Clarkson Show debuts on NBC this fall.
