Gina Wetzler/Redferns5 Seconds of Summer guitarist Michael Clifford is off the market.
According to US Weekly magazine, Michael asked his longtime girlfriend Crystal Leigh to marry him at the Ungasan Clifftop Resort in Bali on Friday. As Crystal walked into the couple’s tent at the resort, the song “Medicine” by the band The 1975 was playing — the same song was playing back when the couple had their first kiss.
On Instagram, Michael posted photos of the special moment, writing, “I was lucky enough to ask the love of my life to marry me in the place it all began for us. In the last 3 years she has helped evolve and shape who I am in ways I could never have imagined. I couldn’t ask for anyone better to spend the rest of my life with. I love loving you, Crystal.”
There’s another photo on Michael’s Instagram Story, and US Weekly has a few more pictures, including one where the happy couple is joined by 15 or 16 of their friends, who are helping them celebrate.
2018 was one of the best years of 5 Seconds of Summer’s career, as they scored their biggest hit yet with “Youngblood,” released their new album of the same name, and toured and topped the year-end charts in their home country of Australia.
