So it’s no wonder she’s so optimistic about starting her next album.
On Wednesday, Camila tweeted, “1st day back to writing the new album – I feel so lucky that I get to do this every day. This was my dream when I was younger, getting to make songs everyday and now I’m here. I’m reminding myself of that every single day this year.”
Over the weekend, Camila celebrated the one-year anniversary of the release of Camila, which arrived January 12, 2018. She wrote several heartfelt messages to her fans, including one that said, “Thank you for loving [these songs], taking care of them and giving them entirely new, special meanings.”
“I’m so lucky I get to open my heart to you beautiful people,” she added. “Happy anniversary, fam. What a ride it has been.”
Camila also revealed that the song on the album she’s most proud of is “Never Be the Same.” She tweeted, “I just feel like that song sounds like what my soul sounds like.”
Back in August, Camila said she had an idea of the direction she wanted to take with her second album, and said it’d be full of “passion and emotion.” No word on when we can expect it.
