Peter LindberghRemember that scene in A Star Is Born when Lady Gaga‘s Ally and Bradley Cooper‘s Jackson are celebrating her success, and they step out on a balcony and admire a huge billboard with Ally’s face and name plastered on it? Well, now it’s a real thing.
A New York Times reporter tweeted an image of the billboard, writing, “Yup, they’ve put up an Ally billboard outside the Chateau Marmont on the Sunset Strip. Same place it’s supposed to be in A STAR IS BORN, albeit a little lower.”
People are now rushing to photograph themselves in front of the billboard — even YouTube star Tyler Oakley got on the fun. He captioned his image, “award season has officially begun & i’m off the deep end for future EGOT winner, Ally Maine!! legends only!!”
As for why the billboard has been erected, it’s a clever “for your consideration” ad promoting A Star Is Born as awards season gets underway in earnest this Sunday night at the Golden Globes. A Star Is Born has four nominations, including an acting and a Best Original Song nod for Gaga.
