Ariana leads all-female top three on Billboard Hot 100, bids goodbye to “worst” year of her life: “Farewell 2018, you ****

Republic Records2018 is ending with some major girl power, thanks to three fabulous female artists.

Ariana Grande, Halsey and Mariah Carey hold the top three spots on the Billboard Hot 100: Ari with “thank u, next,” Halsey with “Without You” and Mariah with “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which reaches an all-time high.  This is the first time in more than four years that three women have held the top three spots.

The last time this happened, it was 2014 and Taylor Swift was #1 with “Blank Space,” Meghan Trainor was #2 with “All About That Bass,” and Taylor was #3 with “Shake It Off.”

Meanwhile, despite scoring a seven-week #1, Ariana can’t wait for 2018 to be over. She’s described it as the “the worst of my life,” including as it did a broken engagement with Pete Davidson and the tragic death of her former boyfriend Mac Miller.

On Instagram, she wrote, “Farewell 2018, you f***. i hope this new year brings you all much laughter, clarity and healing. be gentle with yourselves and each other. if we made it thru this last year, we’ll for sure make it thru this one. thank you for everything.
