Big Machine RecordsIn “Look What You Made Me Do,” Taylor Swift says, “The old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Because she’s dead!” But it turns out she’s not actually dead. She’s still alive — online.
The “store” part of Taylor’s website features a whole section called The Old Taylor. When you click on it, you’ll find “all past era merchandise” from the singer, including posters, t-shirts, shorts, albums, phone cases, tote bags, DVDs and even a Christmas stocking. There’s something from all her “past eras,” including 1989, Speak Now, Fearless, Red and her self-titled debut.
The website The Blast reports that on December 23, Taylor filed legal paperwork to trademark the phrase “The Old Taylor.” The legal filing states that “The Old Taylor” will be used for “online retail stores services,” and refers back to the section on the singer’s website.
Of course, Taylor’s website has plenty of current Reputation merch as well, from snake-shaped rings to sweatpants to ball caps. There’s also a separate line of merch featuring her cats Meredith and Olivia.
