Ariana Grande to headline Manchester, England's Pride event in 2019?

Now, the British tabloid The Sun is reporting that the special date may be a performance in the British city that made her an honorary citizen: Manchester.

According to The Sun, Ari, a big supporter of the LGBTQ community, is in talks to headline Manchester Pride, and her performance would take place Sunday, August 25. Her tour schedule currently does not have anything set for that date.

A source close to Ariana tells the paper, “Manchester holds a very special place in Ariana’s heart and she’s made it clear she wants to do whatever she can for the city. She was in talks to perform at Manchester Pride this year but unfortunately they just could not make it work due to various reasons down to space and security.”

Now, the source dishes, “They have picked up conversations for 2019 and it is now looking like she will headline the Sunday evening. It is going to be really special if it does work out, particularly given how much Ariana means to everyone in the city.”

On May 22, 2017, a terrorist bombing killed 22 people outside of Ariana’s concert at the Manchester Arena.  The following month, Ariana scheduled the massive One Love benefit concert for the victims, which featured the likes of Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Niall Horan, Coldplay and Justin Bieber, and raised millions.

In September, the city made her an honorary citizen to show its appreciation.
