Why Kelly Clarkson hopes her children don't follow in her footsteps

As People reports, during a press conference last night following The Voice finale, Kelly told reporters that she “seriously” hopes that her two-and-a-half-year-old son Remy and four-year-old daughter River are “tone deaf.”  That’s because she’s afraid that if her kids were performers, she would be too much of a stage mother.

Referring to the way she acts with the members of her team on The Voice, Kelly said, “I get so excited…I’m afraid of what kind of mom I would be. I think I would be my mom…she would [tell me], ‘I’ve heard better, but it was solid!'”

In addition, Kelly says the music biz is so tough that she doesn’t want to have her kids have to deal with the pressure.

“I hope they are teachers or doctors or something…It’s a hard industry,” she said, adding, “…People are mean. That’s horrible, but it is reality.”

Earlier in 2018, Kelly told People magazine that she predicts River will “run a company one day” because “there’s no way she’s gonna work for anyone…she does not heed advice very well.”
