In Twitter’s 2018 year in review, BTS ranked number one on the lists of most tweeted-about celebrities and most tweeted-about musicians.
The South Korean boy band, who have 17.2 million followers, also had the most-liked tweet of 2018: a video of them doing Drake’s #InMyFeelingsChallenge, which tallied over 1.6 million likes.
Kanye West, Drake, Ariana Grande, Cardi B, Beyoncé, BTS’ Jimin Park and Nicki Minaj were also included on both the most tweeted-about celebrities and most tweeted-about musicians list.
According to Billboard, Lady Gaga had the third most globally quoted tweet of 2018 with a post from November 6, 2012 that recirculated. The tweet — a jumble of letters, numbers and exclamation points — became a meme used to express excitement or frustration.
On the other pop culture Twitter tallies, Black Panther was the most tweeted-about movie, Saturday Night Live was the most tweeted-about TV show, and 13 Reasons Why was the most tweeted-about streaming show.
