Camila Cabello posted about her excitement after spotting a mural of herself on the side of a building in the Cuban-American neighborhood.
“This took my breath away,” she wrote on Instagram, along with the photo of the painting in progress.
“I was in Little Havana just a week ago because I love walking around there and taking in all the sounds and smells and sights of Cuban culture,” she added. “In Miami we’re 90 miles away, but here – hearing Cuban music, seeing these murals with Cuban artists, and walking through the domino park- I feel so connected to my family and my roots.”
She concluded, “This is soooo beyond cool and it made my heart skip a beat!!!!”
Another cool achievement for the Cuban-born singer? She picked up Best International Artist at Australia’s 2018 ARIA Awards.
Aussie band 5 Seconds of Summer was also a big winner at the awards show, snagging Best Group, Best Australian Live Act and Apple Music Song of the Year for “Youngblood.”
