“(Do) Stop the Music”: Rihanna calls for President Trump to not play her songs during political rallies

Getty Images via ABCPresident Trump played Rihanna’s 2007 quadruple-platinum hit “Don’t Stop the Music” during a rally Sunday in Chattanooga, TN — but RiRi wants him to literally stop the music.

After political analyst Philip Rucker tweeted that the song “was blaring in Chattanooga as aides toss free Trump T-shirts into the crowd, like a ball game,” Rihanna responded, “Not for much longer…me nor my people would ever be at or around one of those tragic rallies, so thanks for the heads up philip!”

Rihanna is the latest of several artists who have demanded that Trump not use their music.  Last week, Pharrell sent a cease and desist letter to the president, demanding that he stop using his Grammy-winning song “Happy” during his events.

Sunday, Rihanna also announced on Instagram that she’s supporting African-American Democratic nominee Andrew Gillum for the governor of Florida.

“FLORIDA: You have the opportunity to make history this election,” she commented. “The US has only had four black Governors in its entire history, and we can help make #AndrewGillum the next one and Florida’s first.“
