Olaf HeineJames Arthur has enlisted Harry Potter star Tom Felton for his new music video for “Empty Space.”
In the clip, Felton plays a man still reeling over a breakup. He sits in his car watching his ex-girlfriend make out with someone else, he re-watches old home videos of them in happier times, and he drinks away his sorrows at the bar.
The video takes a dark turn when we see the home movies of the past seemingly merge with the present day. We see Felton remembering filming his girlfriend while they’re driving and then we see them get into a car accident. A bloodied Felton exits the car looking for help, and we see the present day version of him standing in the street looking on, but powerless to do anything.
“This is one of the proudest moments of my career so far,” Arthur tweeted about the video. “An incredibly moving performance in the motion picture for the #EmptySpaceVideo.”
James is currently working on his upcoming album with Ryan Tedder and hitmaking songwriters Justin Tranter and Max Martin. A release date has yet to be announced.
