Julia Michaels records end-credit song for Disney animated film “Ralph Breaks the Internet”

ABC/Image Group LAImagine Dragons recently released a new song called “Zero,” which will play during the end-credits of the upcoming Disney animated film Ralph Breaks the Internet, the sequel to Wreck-It Ralph. But if you stay ’til the very, very end, you’ll hear a second song, performed by Julia Michaels.

The movie features a song called “A Place Called Slaughter Race,” sung by Sarah Silverman, in character as racer Vanellope von Schweetz, and Gal Gadot, as Shank. The song, co-written by Beauty & the Beast and The Little Mermaid composer Alan Menken, is part of the movie’s narrative, but a pop version, called “In This Place,” was also written.

That’s where Julia comes in: The filmmakers tapped her to record “In This Place.”  In a statement, the “Issues” singer says, “I think one of my favorite things about Ralph Breaks the Internet is Vanellope, because she’s just completely misunderstood. I think a lot of people feel that way — misunderstood — and go through life trying to find their power. And when they find it, it’s really beautiful.”

The soundtrack comes out November 16; the movie comes out November 21.

Julia just wrapped up her tour with Maroon 5. Judging by the photos on her socials, she may be dating Lauv, with whom she recently released the song “There’s No Way.”
