Bebe Rexha & Florida Georgia Line tie chart record with “Meant to Be”

ABC/Kelsey McNeal“Meant to Be,” Bebe Rexha’s hit collaboration with Florida Georgia Line, shows no sign of slowing down on the country chart.

As Billboard reports, the song has now logged an incredible 34th week at #1 on the publication’s Hot Country Songs chart.  In fact, it’s been on top of that chart since it debuted at #1 back in December.

That means “Meant to Be” has now tied Sam Hunt’s crossover smash “Body Like a Back Road” for the longest run at #1 in the history of that chart, which started way back in 1958. If it holds on for one more week, it’ll set the all-time record.

“Meant to Be” also reached #1 on Billboard’s Adult Pop Song and Radio Songs charts.  It’s currently at #14 on the Billboard Hot 100, after climbing as high as #2.

Bebe tells Billboard, “‘Meant to Be’ was truly unexpected, and I’m starting to find out that the best things in life are. I’d never think a New York City girl like me who grew up writing pop music would stumble into the country world. I have my Florida Georgia Line collaborators and brothers‎ to thank for that.”

She adds, “They’ve truly opened my world and taught me to believe.”
