ABC/Paula LoboIn honor of Pride Month, Demi Lovato is raising money for the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).
The singer started a fundraiser on Facebook and is encouraging fans to donate to help the LGBTQ community. The goal of the fundraiser is set at $30,000 and so far she’s raised over $8,000 in just a day.
“Join me in supporting a good cause,” Demi writes on Facebook. “I’m raising money for GLAAD and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support.”
In 2016, Demi was presented with the Vanguard Award at the GLAAD Media Awards for her work promoting equality and acceptance.
This week, Demi’s pal Iggy Azalea also helped raise money for GLAAD by auctioning off her cheerleader’s outfit from her “Fancy” performance at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards.
