Camila Cabello celebrates one year of “Havana,” thanks her friends, er, fans for “making my wildest dreams come true”

Dennis LeupoldThis past Sunday, Camila Cabello celebrated the one-year anniversary of her first-ever live performances of “Havana” and “Never Be the Same,” both of which were months away from being released.  She then thanked her fans on Twitter for “making my wildest dreams come true,” adding “I love you so much.”  In Camila’s case, that’s not just lip service: She truly feels like her fans are her pals.

“My fans and I have a really close relationship and I think it’s…’cause I spend time with them in person too…we’ll have conversations all the time,” she tells ABC Radio. “I do like to, y’know, just talk to them.”

Noting that she and her fans are “all around the same age,” Camila recalls one particular time this past year when “we were talking in the airport for 30 minutes, showing each other songs and talking about guys.”

“And so I feel like we have a really close relationship, and they’re, like, my friends,” she adds.

On Monday, Camila proved that on Twitter.  When fans chimed in to share their favorite memories of the past year with the singer, she addressed a number of them by name and added personal messages.

Camila is currently on tour with another female pop star who knows how to get up-close-and-personal with her fans: Taylor Swift.
