Atlantic RecordsToday’s the day we get all the collabos: Three artists have dropped new singles that feature them teaming up with artists with whom they’ve never worked before.
–First up, it’s Nick Jonas teaming with DJ Mustard on a track called “Anywhere.” It’s a combination of EDM and R&B and features Nick crooning, “You could be anywhere right now/It ain’t hard to see/I’ll be your light/If you say the words for me.”
Nick’s previous two singles were also dance-oriented tracks: “Find You,” and the Annie-Marie and Mike Posner collabo “Remember I Told You.”
–Following the success of “Lights Down Low,” MAX returns with the lead single from his upcoming album, “Team.” It’s an acoustic-flavored, full-on duet with Noah Cyrus, in which the two pledge to support each other, no matter what.
“So whenever you’re losin’/I’ll celebrate ya/Appreciate ya/I’ll get you up on your feet,” the two sing. “Whenever you’re winning/I’ll give you strength, boy/And I’ll cheer your name, girl/Cause I’ll always be on your, I’ll always be on your team.”
–And Rita Ora brings us a track with an impressive three collaborators: Charli XCX, Bebe Rexha and Cardi B. “Girls” is reminiscent of Katy Perry‘s “I Kissed a Girl,” with bi-curious lyrics like “I ain’t one-sided, I’m open-minded/I’m fifty-fifty and I’m never gonna hide it.
The chorus has the ladies singing “Girls/Sometimes I just wanna kiss girls,” and of course, Cardi steals the show with her verse: “Tonight, I don’t want a dog, I want a kitten/I might French a girl from Great Britain.”
All the songs are now available via the usual digital platforms.
