Christopher Polk/Getty Images for TASCamila Cabello was having a total dream-come-true moment when she took the stage with Taylor Swift for the opening night of the Reputation tour Tuesday.
She posted a series of photos of herself on stage smiling and looking adoringly at Taylor as they performed “Shake It Off” along with Charli XCX. Camila later explained what was going through her mind in that moment.
“I remembered when i came to school one day (I think I was in 9th grade but could be wrong) and my friend Mariana had just seen Taylor on the speak now tour and told me she touched her hand,” Camila wrote. “And i was like, when am I ever gonna be able to afford to go to a Taylor swift concert and touch her hand during speak now?'”
Camila continued, “And I just had a moment of ‘if you would’ve told me then what was gonna happen, I wouldn’t have believed it’ and I had such an intense gratitude for everything I’m experiencing right now.”
Camila and Charli are Taylor’s opening acts on the North American tour. They’ll hit the stage for the tour’s Santa Clara, California stop on Friday.
