The teaser features early footage of Whitney from her younger years, through the height of her fame. We hear various voices talking about her immense talent, including fans, family members, and record producer and mentor Clive Davis.
“There was Lena Horne, there was Dionne Warwick, but if the mantle is to pass to somebody who’s got an incredible range of talent but guts and soul, it would be Whitney Houston in my opinion,” Davis says in heard in an early interview with talk show host Merv Griffin.
The documentary, which has been approved by the Whitney Houston estate, contains unheard recordings, behind-the-scenes video footage, home videos and original interviews.
Whitney‘s due in theaters July 6.
