Andrew Lipovsky/NBCCardi B made history as Jimmy Fallon‘s first-ever Tonight Show co-host — and as she put it, the first black person to do so — on Monday, in conjunction with the release of her debut album, Invasion of Privacy.
The “Bodak Yellow” singer also revealed her pregnancy reveal on Saturday Night Live over the weekend was not completely by choice.
The rapper, who showed off a very obvious baby bump during her second song of the night on SNL, told Fallon she was reluctant to go public with her pregnancy, and “could’ve gotten away with it if it wasn’t for the meddling paparazzi.”
The two also discussed the meaning of some of her signature sounds, including “Okuuuuuuurt,” which she said had several different meanings, depending upon how drawn out it is.
Cardi B joined Fallon for the entire show, including his monologue, which even included President Donald Trump rapping her hit, “Bodak Yellow” — with the help of slick editing by Fallon’s Tonight Show staff.
Another segment, called “Mom Quiz,” tested moms on their Cardi B knowledge, for instance:
Finish this lyric: “I don’t gotta dance I make…” and What are red bottoms?
Cardi B also recording a phone message for one lucky audience member.
Jimmy’s other guest on the show, comedian John Mulaney, gifted Cardi B a tiny cardigan for her baby, or as he called it, a “Cardy G.”
Next, Fallon challenged her to a game of “Box of Lies,” in which they took turns trying to stump each other on what was hidden inside their mystery boxes.
Finally, Cardi B performed the TV debut of “Money Bag,” off her debut album, in stores now.
