The Weeknd's “My Dear Melancholy,” tops the Billboard 200 chart

XO/RepublicThe Weeknd had a great week! The singer’s new EP, My Dear Melancholy, debuts at #1 on the latest Billboard 200 album chart following its surprise release on March 30.

The mini-album, which contains six songs, moved 169,000 equivalent album units in its first week of release, with traditional album sales making up 68,000 of that sum. The EP doesn’t arrive on CD until April 13.

My Dear Melancholy, marks The Weeknd’s third number one on the Billboard 200 tally: 2015’s Beauty Behind the Madness and 2016’s Starboy both topped the chart, as well.

According to The Weeknd’s record label, My Dear Melancholy, scored the most streams of any EP in its first week of release, while the single “Call Out My Name” is the #1 streaming and digital song in the country.

Coming in at #2 on the Billboard 200 is rapper Rich the Kid’s debut album, The World Is Yours, while country singer Kacey Musgraves latest disc, Golden Hour, lands at number four.
