ABC/Image Group LAThe Chainsmokers play with fire in the video for their latest single, “Everybody Hates Me.”
The moody clip includes Alex Pall and Drew Taggart riding in a jeep together, performing amidst colorful projections, and setting a car ablaze. Drew even sings part of the song underwater.
The track tackles the loneliness of fame and dealing with haters.
“I’m not trying to be like, ‘Poor me, I made it’/I’m just trying to stay normal now that they know what my name is,” Drew sings. “I just want to drink tequila with my friends/I walk into the club like everybody hates me.”
It’s the third song the Grammy-winning duo has released this year, following “Sick Boy” and “You Owe Me.”
