Capitol RecordsSam Smith has released his new version of “Pray,” featuring Logic.
The remix of the gospel-tinged track now kicks off with a verse from Logic, and includes a second verse from the rapper mid-song. The lyrics talk about his imperfections and rising above struggles.
Earlier this week, Sam announced the collaboration on Twitter, writing, “I am so excited for you to hear this new version of one of my favorite tracks on the album.”
He added, “It was an absolute pleasure to collaborate with Logic to create this, such an incredible artist.”
“Pray” is the latest single off Sam’s album The Thrill of It All. June 18, Sam will kick off the North American leg of his Thrill of It All tour in Toronto. The trek runs through September 13.
Logic, meanwhile, is having quite a moment of his own: he received multiple Grammy nods for his hit “1-800-273-8255,” and his latest mixtape, Bobby Tarantino II, debuted at #1. All 13 songs on the mixtape also charted simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100.
