Selena Gomez designs sneaker for Puma to benefit Lupus Research Alliance

PumaSelena Gomez’s first sneaker design with Puma is sporty meets glam.

The singer debuted the shoe, called the Phenom Lux, on Puma’s Instagram Story Wednesday. It features gold details, a cutout design and a gold removable ankle chain. A set of socks with a sheer panel design will also be available to complete the look.

“I got to design every single part of it,” Selena says in the Instagram Story. “I wanted a shoe that was super clean, I’m very into sneakers with my dresses, with my outfits, everything. And I added this cute little charm, because it’s something I used to do when I was younger.”

Purchasing the shoe will not only up your fashion game, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Lupus Research Alliance. Selena received a kidney transplant last summer after struggling with the disease.

“It’s been really fun to work so closely with Puma on the design of this shoe,” she says in a statement obtained by Footwear News. “I’m also proud to partner with them in helping to affect lives and bring attention to a cause that is very important to me personally.”

The Phenom Lux and matching socks will be available on April 6 at Puma stores and on Puma.com. The sneakers will retail for $110, while the socks are $14.

Selena first teamed up with Puma last September and has starred in multiple ad campaigns for the brand.
