TelevisionOn Tuesday on the TV talk show The Real, Mel B revealed that she and the other members of the Spice Girls had been invited to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding. She also strongly intimated that they’d be performing at the event…but apparently, she doesn’t know what she’s talking about.
A source close to the best-selling British girl group tells Page Six that, while the group has been invited to the May nuptials, they won’t be crooning “2 Become 1” at the reception.
“Mel B is bonkers,” said the source. “They’re all attending but they won’t be performing.”
As previously reported, after Mel dished about the wedding invitation on The Real, she was asked if the group was performing. She rolled her eyes, said, “Ugh, this is where I’m just, like….” and was promptly cut off by the show’s co-hosts, who screamed, cheered and announced that it was true.
Mel, who didn’t deny the co-hosts’ declaration, then said, “I’ve got to go…I’m going to be fired!’
The recently-reunited group is apparently exploring new opportunities, which may or may not include a reunion tour.
