Dave J Hogan/Dave J Hogan/Getty ImagesOne Direction has been on hiatus for quite some time now, but we’ve only gotten complete solo albums from Niall Horan, Harry Styles and ex-member Zayn Malik. Now, there are a few updates on the long-awaited solo projects from Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson.
Liam has so far released a string of singles, including his recent duet with Rita Ora, “For You,” and “Strip That Down.” Steve Mac, who co-wrote and produced “Strip That Down,” tells Music Week that he predicts success for Liam’s album, when it finally comes out.
“I’ve heard a lot of his stuff and I think it’s going to be a great album,” says Mac. “I think it’s going to be a compilation album.”
Mac explains what he means by that: “I wouldn’t say it’s a body of work that will flow, but what I like is that it’s going to be hit to hit to hit. And in my world, those are the best albums.”
As for Louis, when a fan asked him on Monday if his album would arrive “in the first half of the year,” he replied, “It’s what I’m aiming for :).” Asked if the disc would feature “more than 10 tracks,” Louis replied, “Defo ! Value for money and all that.”
Louis also tweeted, “I know it’s taking longer than expected but it’s gonna be worth it!”
All five members of One Direction have scored at least one top 40 solo hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
