ABC/Heidi GutmanCamila Cabello‘s debut solo album Camila may score the singer her first ever #1 album.
Industry forecasters tell Billboard that the album, featuring the smash hit “Havana,” could sell around 90,000 units, which may result in a #1 debut. But that’s assuming the album out-sells the one that’s currently number one: The Greatest Showman.
Last week, the soundtrack album for the Hugh Jackman film sold 104,000 units. If sales drop, Camila could replace it at #1; if not, she’ll have to settle for #2. That would match the performance of her song “Havana,” which has been stuck at #2 on the Hot 100 for weeks.
With Fifth Harmony, the highest Camila ever got on the album chart was #4, with the group’s second album, 7/27.
In other Camila news, she appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday, and discussed her performance on ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. On the show, she performed in New York’s Times Square in record cold temperatures — which forced her to find a new use for those hand warmers.
“I put it like right above my underwear…but underneath my pants. It was great!” Camila told Ellen as the audience laughed.
“So you felt the heat there, and it made you think of Havana,” Ellen cracked. “Yeah!” laughed Camila. “Exactly.” “Yes, I understand that,” Ellen shot back, to more laughter.
