Hailee Steinfeld likes that her latest hit collabo seems weird “on paper”

ABC/Kelsey McNealWe still haven’t gotten a full album from Hailee Steinfeld, but she’s just scored her third top 40 hit — and she did it with a song that she admits “seemed a bit left field” at first.

The song is “Let Me Go,” and it teams Hailee with Swedish DJ Alesso, guitarist/producer Watt, and superstar country duo Florida Georgia Line. It has just hit #40 on the Billboard Hot 100, and follows Hailee’s previous hits “Love Myself” and her collabo with Zedd and Grey, “Starving.”

“I loved the fact that….on paper, it seems a bit left field,” she tells ABC Radio. “Which is cool and I think we got people’s attention that way. But the coming together of this record was based on how passionate we all were about the song.”

On top of that, Hailee’s releasing a new song on Friday: “Capital Letters,” a collabo with Bloodpop that appears on the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack. Hailee teased the upbeat track, which you’ll get as an instant grat track with the soundtrack album pre-order, on Instagram.

By the way, both Watt and Florida Georgia Line have additional hits on the chart right now: Watt produced Selena Gomez and Marshmello’s “Wolves,” which is #28, while “Meant to Be,” Florida Georgia Line’s collabo with Bebe Rexha is #24.
