ABC/Image Group LAHailee Steinfeld‘s one of the many stars performing on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest December 31. She’s a longtime fan of the show, but says it’s not the musical performances that impress her the most.
“I’m at home and I’ve kind of put my little New Year’s Eve outfit together,” she says, describing a typical New Year’s Eve. “But then I look at all these artists that are onstage and the show is just so incredible and it’s on such a huge level that I always feel like I take away what the stage looks like, and what they’re in, the artists.”
New Year’s Rockin’ Eve has been a staple of Hailee’s life for years, which is why she’s thrilled to appear on the telecast.
“For as far back as I can remember, every New Year’s party, whether it was my house that my parents threw, or a friend’s, wherever it was, New Year’s Rockin’ Eve was always on and that’s where we count down and that’s what we ring in the new year with,” she tells ABC Radio. “So to be on the show is insane, but really, really an honor.”
As for her New Year’s resolution, Hailee says she has goals both big and small.
“There are the smaller things like get more sleep, and reduce stress and drink more water,” she laughs. “But [also, to] travel more on my own time, and spend more time with the people that I love.”
In 2018, the 21-year-old singer/actress will tour with Charlie Puth starting in July, and that December, her movie Bumblebee, a Transformers spinoff, will hit theaters.
Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest airs Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
