G-Eazy ready for “New Year's Rockin' Eve,” plans to “take over the world” in 2018

ABC/Image Group LAG-Eazy is one of many acts who’ll be performing on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest  December 31, his second straight year on the broadcast.  He says watching the show when he was growing up inspired him to follow his rock-star dreams.

“I remember being a little kid…trying to stay awake long enough to watch the whole thing,” G-Easy tells ABC Radio.

“I always wanted to be a rock star — that’s what I wanted to grow up to be — and watching all these artists that I liked as a kid perform on this show….and now to get to be a part of it, two years in a row, I mean, it’s a big honor.  It’s incredible.”

As for his New Year’s resolution, G-Eazy feels he’s “constantly in a state of ‘How can I be better?'” but he admits he’d like to “be a better me, have a bigger year this year than I had the one before…be better to people, to the world and to myself…and try to expand and grow.”

G-Eazy’s girlfriend, Halsey, is also performing on the show, so you’ll likely see them perform their hit duet “Him & I.”  In addition to that song, the rapper currently has a top-five hit with “No Limits,” his collabo with A$AP Rocky and Cardi B.  2018 also will see him hit the road in support of his album The Beautiful & Damned.

Asked about 2018 goals, G-Easy laughs, “Just trying to level up, and take over world…same thing we do every year!”

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest airs Sunday night on ABC starting at 8 p.m. ET.
