Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagicMiley Cyrus and her sister Noah aren’t just singers — they’re also animal lovers. Now, they’ve been recognized for their advocacy for animals by peta2, the youth division of People for the Ethical Treatment for Animals.
In the organization’s 12th Annual Libby Awards — “Libby” being short for “liberation,” as in “animal liberation” — Miley was named Best Voice for Animals for the second year in a row. The honor came thanks to her promotion of veganism and animal issues via social media.
Meanwhile, Miley’s sister, Noah, got the award for Best peta2 Ad. The anti-SeaWorld ad showed Noah trapped in a water-filled aquarium on a beach, with the headline “Life’s no beach in captivity: Boycott SeaWorld.”
Other winners this year include Blink-182, named “Most Animal-Friendly Band,” and Paramore‘s Hayley Williams, whose goodDYEyoung brand of hair dye was named Best Vegan Hair Dye.
