Ed Sheeran wrote a James Bond theme song “just in case”

Mark SurridgeEd Sheeran has a written a James Bond theme, even though nobody’s asked him to.  Yet.

During an appearance on Ireland’s The Late Late Show, the singer admitted that he’s had a Bond song in the can for years.

“With Bond, I’ve had a theme tune written for about three years, just in case,” he said. He wouldn’t reveal the title, though, “’cause someone might steal it,” but he assured: “it’s good.”

This may be Ed’s way of manifesting the opportunity. He did the same thing with his song for Eminem, reveling he had the idea for “River” already planned, just in case he ever had the opportunity to collaborate with the rapper. And lo and behold, it happened.
