Hailee's thankful for family and “every food in the world”; for Zedd, Thanksgiving's “not a thing”

ABC/Image Group LAHailee Steinfeld has had a busy year: She released a string of singles, including her current one, “Let Me Go,” and shot a few films, including Pitch Perfect 3 and the Transformers spin-off Bumblebee.  So what is the “Starving” singer most thankful for this Thanksgiving?  Well, friends, family and, of course, food.

“I feel like I’ve grown so much in my own body and I’m more confident than I was the year before,” she tells ABC Radio. “And I’m so thankful for all of the people that have helped me get to where I am, and execute my visions and my dreams, and my family and the people that are closest to me.”

“And…home!” she adds. “I’m thankful for a place called home.”  And home, of course, is where you get delicious Thanksgiving food.  Is she thankful for turkey?

“Uh, YEAH!  And every other food in the world!” she laughs.  And when it comes to the big bird, the singer and actress has no preference: roasted, deep-fried, brined…it’s all good.

“I mean, honestly, whatever my mom does, I don’t really know what she does, but whatever she does with that turkey and her stuffing is, like, beyond!” she gushes. “Fire. So good.”

Meanwhile, another hitmaking artist, Zedd, says he can take or leave Thanksgiving, because he’s not American.

“To be honest with you, I’m German and for us, Thanksgiving is not a thing,” he tells ABC Radio. “So I’m debating just going to the studio and working, ‘cause to me it’s not really a thing. But there’s a lot of friends of mine who celebrate, and I would also love to spend some time with them, so I’ll decide, probably, day of Thanksgiving.”
