ABC/Matt BrownNiall Horan isn’t just a chart-topping singer/songwriter: he’s now a model as well. Vanity Fair reports that the legendary Wilhelmina Models agency — whose roster includes Shawn Mendes, Nicki Minaj and Niall’s duet partner Maren Morris — has signed Niall as a client. “It’s gonna be fun to see what happens,” says Niall about his career as model. “I’m just really excited about it.
Speaking to Vanity Fair, Niall says he’s “into the fashion side of things,” but never had any desire to actually be a model, until it was “put in front of” him. As for his own fashion sense, Niall reveals, “If it was possible to transport easily I would wear a suit every single day I think. I love getting into a suit. I like a slick suit.”
Niall says he also likes “folky, rootsy” outfits; “quite basic, simple but effective type stuff.” His own personal fashion icons include David Beckham, Ryan Gosling, James Dean and, oddly, Bruce Springsteen.
“It’s cool and simple,” Niall says of Bruce’s style. “Obviously Bruce is a lot more ripped than I am. He’s, what, 68 years old or whatever, but he’s holding it together very well. I mean he looks great….he just looks shredded still, and he pulls off the most simple stuff really well.”
The next step for many models is acting, so is Niall interested in exploring that next?
“To be honest, I’ve never really thought about it. I am quite impatient so a lot of that waiting around between takes would absolutely kill me,” he tells Vanity Fair. But he admits that “if the right thing came around, I’d give it a look.”
