Mert & MarcusTaylor Swift is giving fans an inside glimpse at her songwriting process.
In a new video diary filmed by Taylor herself for her AT&T partnership, she’s seen working out the lyrics and melody for her song “Gorgeous” over the course of a few weeks.
She uses the guitar and piano as she attempts to perfect the tune. In particular, she’s seen working through the verse that eventually became, “You should take it as a compliment that I got drunk and made fun of the way you talk/You should think about the consequence of your magnetic field being a little too strong.”
The clip also shows Taylor coming up with the lyrics allegedly inspired by her ex, Calvin Harris: “And I got a boyfriend, he’s older than us/He’s in the club doing, I don’t know what.”
At the end of the “Making Of,” a lyric video for the final song plays.
Taylor’s album, Reputation, comes out November 10.
