ABC/Lou RoccoAppearing Monday on ABC’s Good Morning America, Pink said that her latest hit, “What About Us,” is about “how government has failed us” — but that doesn’t mean she’s given up hope.
Pink’s new album is called Beautiful Trauma. “Honestly, life is really traumatic no matter who you are — for some more than others,” she explained. “But I try to hold onto the idea that there’s a lot of beautiful people in the world that want great things for others.”
“There’s joy to be had, still, and I have to hold on to that,” she added.
According to Pink, another thing that’s both beautiful and traumatic is the prospect of going on tour next year with her two young children: six-year-old Willow, and baby Jameson.
“It’s insane,” she laughs. “My dressing room looks a lot different now, there’s lots of cuddly, plush, shaggy things, but it’s really fun, it’s beautiful. There’s beautiful moments. There’s hard times and there’s beautiful moments. You have to get really creative on what can be done inside of a hotel room in the winter!”
During her GMA appearance, Pink also discussed her tendency to over-share when it comes to her personal life.
“I don’t know how to be any other way,” she said about her candidness. “Sometimes I hear back the things I’ve said and I’m like ‘Oooh…Wow, that’s a lot!'”
One of the things Pink has been very honest about over the years is her marriage to Carey Hart. So what does he think about the things she says about him?
“He’s used to it,” she laughs. “He has really thick skin and a really good sense of humor but I think a lot of the time, he’s not actually listening!”
