Greg WilliamsYou’d think Ed Sheeran would have his hands full these days with his skyrocketing career, world tour and side job writing songs for musical pals like Justin Bieber. But that’s evidently not enough for the “Shape of You” singer — he apparently wants to dominate country music too.
Ed has co-written the title track of the long-awaited duet album from superstar country couple Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, who’ve been married for 21 years and have had at least that many massive country hits between them. The album, The Rest of Our Life, is out November 17.
Ed co-wrote the song with his usual collaborators: Steve Mac, Johnny McDaid and Amy Wadge. He co-wrote “Shape of You” with Steve and Johnny, and co-wrote “Thinkin’ Out Loud” with Amy.
Meanwhile, Meghan Trainor also has a writing credit on Tim and Faith’s album. She co-wrote the final song on the album, “Roll the Dice.” Megan already has co-written two #1 country hits: “I Like the Sound of That” by Rascal Flatts and “The Road Less Traveled” by American Idol season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina.
Other tracks on the Tim and Faith’s album were co-written by Liz Rose, one of Taylor Swift‘s frequent early collaborators, and Hilary Lindsey, who co-wrote Lady Gaga‘s hit “Million Reasons.”
