Say what you will about Taylor Swift’s image these days, but Kesha’s a big fan. In fact, she describes Tay as a “f*****g sweetheart.”
In a new cover story with Rolling Stone, Kesha addresses how Taylor supported her during her legal battle with producer Dr. Luke by donating $250,000 toward her legal expenses.
Kesha says Taylor is “very, very sweet, very, very genuine, extremely generous, picks up the phone every time I call her. My mom doesn’t even always pick up the phone!”
When asked about the recent dings to Taylor’s “sweetheart” reputation, Kesha claims to be unaware of those developments.
“I’m not really up on my pop culture,” she says. “Should I know something about it? I live in my record player.”
Kesha also discusses her long recovery from an eating disorder that almost took her life. She tells Rolling Stone a friend in the music business — whom she doesn’t name — called her the day after he won multiple Grammys and helped her put things in perspective.
“He was like, ‘Congratulations to you,'” she says. “And I was like, ‘For what?’ And he was like, ‘Who cares about my Grammys? You just saved your f*****g life.’”
She says in that moment she realized, “Oh, wait. I did just take my life into my own hands and choose life over a slow, painful, shameful self-imposed death. And I need to stop just being so f*****g mean to myself.”
