Jason BellJason Mraz is making his Broadway debut.
The singer has joined the cast of Waitress in the role of Dr. Pomatter, the town physician who begins an affair with local waitress and pie-maker, Jenna.
His 10-week run begins Friday, November 3.
Jason is already familiar with the music of Waitress: he recorded the songs “Bad Idea” and “You Matter” with Sara Bareilles on her album What’s Inside: Songs from Waitress.
Sara, who composed the music for the show, has been hinting at Jason’s involvement all week. She dropped clues to the announcement on Twitter, including a stethoscope, a guitar, an avocado and a fedora. If you’re wondering about the avocado, Jason grows them on his farm in California.
