Raven VaronaCardi B‘s money moves have shifted Taylor Swift’s revenge fantasies out of the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
Cardi’s “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” has risen from #2 to #1 on the chart, dethroning Taylor’s “Look What You Made Me Do.” In the process, she’s become the first female rapper to top that chart solo in nearly 19 years. The last artist to do it was Lauryn Hill, with 1998’s “Doo Wop (That Thing).”
Not only that, but Cardi is the first female solo artist to reach #1 with a debut single — without any guest artists — since Meghan Trainor, who did it in 2014 with “All About That Bass.”
Taylor’s “Look What You Made Me Do,” meanwhile, falls to #3 after three weeks on top.
Elsewhere on the chart, the band Portugal. The Man scores their first top-10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Feel It Still.”
