RCA RecordsZayn has returned with the first official single from his second solo album. It’s a duet with Sia entitled “Dusk Til Dawn” — Zayn co-wrote the track with Sia and the song’s producer, Greg Kurstin.
An epic movie-style video directed by 500 Days of Summer’s Marc Webb has also been released, giving Zayn a chance to show off his acting skills. In the clip, Zayn is being pursued through the city by bad guys — and by the police — because he’s got a mysterious briefcase that glows when you open it, a la Pulp Fiction.
The police bring Zayn in, but he’s pulled a switcheroo with his co-star, Girls actress Jemima Kirke: she’s got the glowing briefcase; all he’s got is a case with some clothing in it. After the police release him, the two lure the bad guys to an abandoned house, and then make an anonymous call to the police.
A shootout ensues while Zayn and Jemima escape through a secret tunnel and drive away in their car. Unfortunately, we’re never shown what’s in the briefcase.
No word yet on when Zayn’s album, the follow up to his chart-topping disc Mind of Mine, will be released.
