A free, all-star benefit concert will be held later this month in response to the violence that occurred in Charlottesville, Virginia during that white nationalist rally in August.
Dubbed A Concert for Charlottesville, the event takes place September 24 at the University of Virginia’s Scott Stadium, and will feature performances from Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams, Ariana Grande, country star Chris Stapleton, The Roots, alt-rock band Cage the Elephant, and Brittany Howard, frontwoman for rock band Alabama Shakes.
Dave Matthews Band is hosting the event, because Charlottesville is their hometown.
The free tickets will be first allocated to residents of Charlottesville, as well as to the students, faculty and staff of UVA. If that doesn’t apply to you, you can also request tickets via ConcertforCharlottesville.com. The ticket request period concludes Monday, September 11 at noon ET.
In lieu of paying for a ticket, attendees are encouraged to donate to the Concert for Charlottesville Fund, which will benefit the victims of the events of August 11 and 12, as well as their families, and first responders.
