Alessia Cara, Julia Michaels, Fifth Harmony score major sales boots from MTV VMAs

Courtesy MTVAlessia Cara, Fifth Harmony and Julia Michaels are among the artists who enjoyed big sales boosts thanks to their performances on Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards.

Alessia’s performance of “Scars to Your Beautiful” resulted in a 181% increase in downloads, according to Nielsen Music.  In addition, her collaborative performance with Logic and Khalid of the suicide awareness song “1-800-273-8255” resulted in a 185% sales increase.

Pink, who was honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, performed a mash-up of her hits, leading to an overall sales spike of 70% for the songs she played.

Julia Michaels’ performance of “Issues” was cut short, but she still was rewarded with a 187% increase in digital song sales.  Fifth Harmony scored a whopping 205% increase in sales of their song “Down” following their performance with Gucci Mane.

Demi Lovato grabbed a 41% sales bump in her latest single “Sorry Not Sorry,” while the night’s big winner, Kendrick Lamar, saw his songs “DNA.” and “HUMBLE.” increase in sales by 47% and 41%, respectively.
