ABC/Lou RoccoBebe Rexha’s current single “The Way I Are (Dance with Somebody)” is a collaboration with Lil Wayne, and later this month, she’s releasing a new single with One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson. She says she’s been pleasantly surprised at how nice those guys were, given their fame. As she puts it, “You never know, y’know?”
Bebe’s song with Louis is called “Back to You” and it’s due July 21. “I was a little nervous meeting him ’cause I didn’t know what to expect, ’cause he was part of One Direction and they were so massive,” she tells ABC Radio. “[But] I met him and he was probably one of the most humble people I’ve ever met in the music business.”
“It’s been kinda awesome lately because I’ve been so blessed to work with such nice people,” Bebe adds. She notes that when Lil Wayne showed up for “The Way I Are” video shoot, “He was so kind and humble and relaxed and that was really refreshing!”
“The Way I Are” appears on Bebe’s upcoming EP All Your Fault: Pt. 2, due August 11, but is available for pre-order now. It’s the follow-up to her debut EP All Your Fault: Pt. 1. Why split her music in two rather than releasing one album? “I wanted to give my songs a chance,” she tells ABC Radio.
“I feel like when I listen to an album it’s 12 songs and I pick my two favorite songs,” Bebe explains. “And I wanted to split it up…and kind of feed the world my music slowly…and then hopefully they’ll have a really big appetite for the next.”
In addition to Weezy, Pt. 2 includes collaborations with Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz and country superstars Florida Georgia Line.
