Miley Cyrus & Jimmy Fallon busk in NYC on “The Tonight Show”

Andrew Lipovsky/NBCMiley Cyrus, took over Wednesday’s edition of The Tonight Show. She was Jimmy Fallon’s only guest for the entire show, during which she busked in a New York City subway station.

After appearing in place of Jimmy in the show’s opening title sequence and interrupting his monologue as “Hashtag the Panda,” the 24-year-old singer and Season-13 The Voice coach appeared in a segment taped the night before, where she and Fallon donned disguises and busked in the subway station below NYC’s 30 Rock, where the show is taped.

Cyrus, in a black wig, a cowboy hat and sunglasses, and Fallon, posing as her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, kicked off the performance with Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.” Next, she led the crowd of onlookers in a rendition of her 2009 hit, “Party in the U.S.A.” —  now titled, “Party in the Subway.”

During her sit down with Jimmy, she discussed a number of topics, including her family, the inspiration for “Malibu,” and what prompted her to give up smoking weed.

After revealing to Fallon that she’d “always been very stoned” during her Tonight Show appearances, Cyrus explained that, she wanted to “super clear about the way I’m talking [about the new album].”

Next, Miley and Fallon played a game called, “Google Translate Songs,” where they sang popular tunes, whose lyrics were interpreted by the search engine’s translation service.

For instance: Ed Sheeran‘s “Shape of You” became to “Your Body’s Curves”; Rick James’ “Superfreak turned into “Really Weird”; Dusty Springfield’s “Son of a Preacher Man” translated to “A Minister’s Male Child” and Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” was now “Land Forms Don’t Prefer to Get High.”

Miley closed out the show with two musical performances – her current hit, “Malibu” and “Inspired,” both off her upcoming album.
