Last year’s official Song of the Summer, based on chart performance, was Drake‘s “One Dance.” Who’ll grab the title this year? The countdown has begun, as Billboard brings back its annual Songs of the Summer chart.
For the next 100 days or so — from now through Labor Day — the top 20 songs that do the best on the Billboard Hot 100 will appear on this chart, and the top song overall will be crowned Song of the Summer 2017.
Right now, “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, is #1 on that chart, followed by Bruno Mars‘ “That’s What I Like,” DJ Khaled‘s “I’m the One,” Kendrick Lambar‘s “HUMBLE.” and Ed Sheeran‘s “Shape of You.” Any one of these songs could earn the title, but so could a song that hasn’t yet been released.
Here are the most recent Songs of the Summer:
2016: Drake, “One Dance”
2015: OMI, “Cheerleader”
2014: Iggy Azalea/Charli XCX, “Fancy”
