Camila Cabello announces first solo album; single coming Friday

Getty Images via ABCCamila Cabello‘s ready with her first solo album, and it sounds like a deeply personal one.

The former Fifth Harmony singer took to Twitter Sunday night to announce that the album will be called The Hurting, The Healing, The Loving, with the first song from it arriving Friday.

In a lengthy post, Camila calls the album “the story of my journey from darkness into light, from a time when i was lost to a time when i found myself again.”

Camila explains that she began writing a song, “I Have Questions,” during a time when she “was completely broken,” adding, “i was in the kind of pain that’s uncomfortable to talk about, and it was the kind of chapter you never want to read out loud.”

It was six months before she could face writing another, she adds, with the process of making the new music proving therapeutic. “[I] realized i wasn’t making music just to make an album anymore, i was making this music to heal,” she wrote.
