Niall Horan gets sexy & funky with “Slow Hands”

Capitol RecordsNiall Horan’s first solo single, “This Town,” was a strummy singer/songwriter-type tune.  His new single, “Slow Hands,” offers a different sound from the One Direction member.

“I’m so happy to be releasing ‘Slow Hands,'” he says in a statement. “I’ve been listening to a lot of early 80’s stuff lately and been inspired by that heavy bass and the funky guitar sound. It’s another flavor to my album that I’m excited to share.”

In an interview with The Sun, Niall explained the idea behind the song.

“We just made up a concept around a sexy night out, meeting up with a girl in this club and hoping she’s going to come home with me,” he says. “It surprised me, to be honest. This is the most out-there song on the album. I wanted to try something different.”

He adds, “When it started coming together I started getting a bit freaked out and began telling the producer to start toning things back a bit so it doesn’t sound as funky. But then I grew into it and I really liked it.”

Niall is finishing up his debut solo album; there’s no release date yet.
