Julia Michaels‘ debut single, “Issues,” has gone platinum in just three months, with one million in sales and equivalent streams.
According to her record company, it’s also the best-selling song by a new artist released in 2017, and the highest on-demand audio streaming song by a new artist released this year.
While Julia is considered a new artist, and “Issues” is her first hit under her own name, she’s co-written eight other top-40 hits for the likes of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.
Julia will be performing at the Radio Disney Awards on April 29. She’s up for Best New Artist, and joins a performance lineup that also includes Hailee Steinfeld, Noah Cyrus, Alessia Cara, Train and Jordan Fisher.
