Adele, Alicia Keys, Selena Gomez featured in “People” magazine's “Most Beautiful” issue

XL/Columbia RecordsPeople magazine’s annual Most Beautiful issue hits newsstands on Friday, and some of this year’s beauties are also some of the world’s biggest music stars.

Adele, Selena Gomez, Alicia Keys and country superstar Carrie Underwood are among the singers who are featured in this year’s main list of Fabulous Faces of 2017.

Regarding her refusal to bow to pressure regarding her own appearance, the magazine quotes Adele as saying, “In Hollywood, you are either too fat or you’re too skinny.  It’s just absurd. You are never going to please everyone anyway, so what’s the point?”

Alicia, who’s lately stopped wearing makeup in public, is quoted by as saying “The way I define beauty is individuality and wisdom, which I think creates a certain inner confidence.”

As for Selena, she’s not just a pretty face: she’s helped fans by sharing with them her personal struggles over the years.  “I’ve been very vulnerable with my fans, and sometimes I say things I shouldn’t,” the magazine quotes her as saying.

Rita Ora, Demi Lovato, Gwen Stefani, Beyonce, Hailee Steinfeld and Ariana Grande pop up in a variety of smaller features, such as “Cuties to Beauties,” “In Sync Couples” and “Beautiful at Any Age.”  Ellie Goulding takes fans into the recording studio for a feature called “My Busy, Beautiful Life.”

Julia Roberts graces the cover of the Most Beautiful issue for a record fifth time.
